1983 Super Swede – Silver Sparkle (non-factory) – #53 078229
$900.00
By the 1980’s, production by AB Albin Hagström in Älvdalen was winding down. Only a few instruments were being produced in Sweden for their suppliers. The Very last production run was done in 1983. It was a run of 250 guitars called ‘Ultra Swede’ in the ‘Blue Book’ As best I can tell the Ultra Swede is a Super Swede without the zero fret. [My original text (italicized) is corrected by Karl Erik Hagström Jr.: “It’s wrong in the blue book. So you have a Super Swede made in Sweden. Kind regards Karl”] This guitar has a 25-3/4” scale with strings individually anchored to the maple body. Only 21 instruments were officially made by Hagström after this rare guitar. This is a good-looking instrument, but it is NOT factory original. According to Hagström records it was originally a burst finish. It has a beautiful and professionally done black and silver sparkle finish. The chrome hardware has been painted black, and the pickups are Gibsons. Though it has a coil tap switch, it is not currently set up as a coil tap. It is an attractive instrument that plays well, sounds good, and has great sustain. The price reflects the modifications to the original. It comes with a nice case. Contact us for additional photos or information.
